Welcome, friends.

I’m so grateful you’ve taken a moment to visit Midvale Community Baptist Church. Whether you’re searching for a church home, exploring faith, or simply looking for a place where you can breathe and be encouraged, I want you to know—you’re welcome here.

My heart is for people who are hurting, overwhelmed, or simply longing for hope. For more than twenty years, God has allowed me to serve churches across Idaho, North Carolina, and Virginia, and to walk with individuals and families through seasons of joy and seasons of struggle. Today, I count it a privilege to serve this community with compassion, biblical truth, and a commitment to emotional and spiritual well‑being.

Wherever you are on your journey, I pray you experience the love of Jesus and the warmth of this church family. I’d love the chance to meet you and walk alongside you in the days ahead.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Chris Blythe

Grounded in Christian truth, we are dedicated to sharing the gospel and serving the needs of our community. We have a profound desire to bring hope to the hopeless and healing to the hurting. Our mission is “restoring lives through Jesus Christ.”

We accomplish our mission by CONNECTING people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, CULTIVATING their spiritual growth through active discipleship, and encouraging them to CONTRIBUTE their spiritual gifts, talents and time towards faithful service to others.

Are you in a storm?

The Book of Job provides a narrative of personal storms, where Job experiences profound suffering and loss. Throughout his trials, Job wrestles with understanding God's presence and purpose. In the end, God speaks to Job out of a whirlwind, revealing His majesty and wisdom (Job 38:1). This encounter underscores that God is present even in the midst of suffering, and His purposes transcend human understanding. Psalms 107:29 -says "He makes the storm calm, so that the waves are still."

Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.
